- 1950 Foundation of the company Schilling Dutal Mechanik by Jordan Schilling.
Production of numbering units and milling parts in the early years at the Pius
Lang Messermanufaktur Stetten Do.
- 1960 Moved to the newly created residential house with a separate company area on the
ground floor.
- 1980 Construction of a new company building. Start of production of lathe
and milling parts for mechanical engineering.
- 1982 Change of name to Schilling Mechanik GmbH.
- 1988 Expansion of the building and start of the production of
surgical instruments.
- 1996 Separation of the company into the area of the CNC lathe parts
manufacturing (today's company Udo Schilling CNC Drehteile) and into
the newly founded company SMT Schilling Metalltechnik GmbH including
the new building in Mühlheim.
- 1999 ISO Certification according to DIN EN 9001 and DIN EN ISO 13485
- 2001 Expansion of SMT Schilling Metalltechnik GmbH including a further 800m²
production area. Exclusive manufacture of surgical instruments.
- 2003 Extension of the product group with K-Wires.
- 2005 The beginning of producing veterinary instruments.
- 2009 The beginning of producing stainless steel tools.
- 2012 FDA Inspection
- 2015 The beginning of producing high quality knives.
- 2015 FDA Re-inspection
